You might have visited the doctor office many times and would have been given antiseptics and antibiotics. The most common reason behind giving antibiotics or antiseptics are skin infections or fungal infections. Antibiotics kill the harmful bacteria but it also has a drawback as it also kills the good bacteria. Those good bacteria help fight against dangerous pathogens. But some antiseptics are contracting, hence it is very important to choose the right antiseptic for your dog.

Goldenseal has compound called berberine which is a natural antibiotic. It builds the immune system by increasing the healthy growth of white blood cells in the body. A good immune system will help your dog fight better against infections. You can take a cotton ball and spray some goldenseal and use it directly on the wound. You have to do this three times a day for fast results.
Try to avoid disinfectant with alcohol in them, as it can cause irritation and burning sensation. It can also be toxic if the dog licks it and can also dry the skin causing more problems. But you can use them to clean your dog’s bedding and cage. It is a good way to get all the bacteria out of the bed and cage.
